f A variety of good hap- penings took place throughout 1973-74 and in the community as a whole. More clubs were added as extra curriculum activi- ties at Our Place. They were the Art Club, HERO, VICA, and the French Club. A music building which was architecturally de- signed to produce the best use of acoustics for the choir and band was built adjacent to the main school structure. The new building provides enough room for an ever expanding band, storage of equipment and serves as a place where in- dividual students can prac- tice without interruption. Girls ' Basketball was added to FCHS for the first time ever. The team com- peted with other schools, and finished with a 4-6 record. New factories, Pannill Knitting, Floyd Industries and a pulp mill moved into the county and provided additional employment op- portunities for prospective seniors. These factories also encouraged more families to move into the county which resulted in additional students. i 2 '
