With the distribution of report and the students fill the halls with a unique clamor, cards. . . ACTION . . . AND To each action belongs a reaction. A winning basketball game conveys ecstatic joy, a perplexing test creates mental frustration, a mischievous exploit resolves in deserved reprimands. The action stimulates; the reaction reflects. Every ' student ' s life is a continuing sequence of varied actions which reflect his knowledge, personality, and opinions. Each test gauges exactly how much a student is learning; each facial expression reveals his opinions; each move he makes and each word he says mirrors a facet of his personality. Actions and reactions are like a continuous spiral, each dependent on the other. This unending chain reaction constitutes the boundless animation that makes Floyd County High School unique. Senior English students display varied emotions. Tantalizing aromas fill the halls. . .

WHERE THE ACTION IS 0 0 0 The sun rises lazily during early morning hours and dawns over a dark quiet mansion known as Floyd County High School. The sun is in no hurry. Though it takes time to stretch and yawn, each minute it is ascending higher and higher over this serene palace of learning. Then, as darkness slowly gives way to the brightness of sun rays, this lone structure awakes and prepares herself for another chaotic day. Her silent corridors, her tacit classrooms, her soundless bells — each remains quiescent as the morning hours pass. Then suddenly all are jolted from this restful state. From within the crowded buses merge clattering feet — feet that are immediately swept into a never ceasing whirlwind of activities: keys unlocking classrooms, chalk scratching against blackboards, locker doors slamming shut, a myriad of innumerable activities. Yet, each pair of feet belongs to an individual, and each individual finds himself engrossed in the various performances of spirit, mind, and body. He becomes as a spoke in an ever-turning wheel — the wheel of action, the wheel which moves within the walls of brick and mortar, to form, to shape, to build, to mold.
