PRESENT, AND FUTURE History is a tale that never ends. The new grows out of the old and is built upon it. Knowing what has gone before, we are better able to understand what is yet to come. The teachers of the social studies department help the student acquire the skill to view the conflicts and challenges of the world without prejudice. In order to be prepared for the responsibility that will be a part of his adult life, the student must be aware of the foreign and domestic problems surrounding him. By noting the rela- tionship between these past and current events, he will be able to meet the challenge that tomorrow ' s society will present.
