From England come the mod hatters, invading our fashion world. BRITISH INFLUENCE In the fast-moving world of teenagers, FCHS distin- guishes itself as a school of sharp contrasts. From records— Mancini or the Beach Boys— to skirts, high-waisted or hipster, each student expresses himself through the arts of music, speech, and fashion. He develops his own ideas and actions, yet, at the same time, a d d s to them the novelties that are considered the latest. These styles invented by the teen-age generation maybe in great contrast, but that is all a part of the self-expression and fun inferred in creating these extraordinary fashions. Sandals and surfer crosses are indicative of the first days of school. Fashion-conscious girls create a Carnaby Street of their own with hipster skirts and coordinating tops. 7

For the boys mod-fashion means paisley, Flower-strewn suits complement long and short hair styles, polka-dot, or flow e re d shirts; low-belted and monogrammed pants complete the attire. Shoulder bags dominate the purse world. FADS IMPLICATE From spikenards to modern cologne, many distinctive fragrances are complements of the fashion circle. 6

Journalism students fold newspapers hot off the press as another issue of the County Crier informs students of activities around the school. In order to establish a well-rounded education at FCHS, numerous extracurricular activities supplement classwork. Clubs, plays, and athletics are only a few that constitute the unceasing action in our Alma Mater. A student involved in these activities finds himself working scores of untold hours in and out of school. Parti- cipation in these outside projects gives him the qualities of leadership and co-operation which are essential to the leaders of the twenty-first century. Forming the Spread-Eagle jump, a cheerleader sends cries for victory ringing through the crisp air of an autumn night. CLASSROOM ASSIGNMENTS Spectators at a home basketball game crowd the halls in an effort to get to the concession stand sponsored by various clubs for a money making project. 8
