Jack Whitaker Julian Branche Junior Beas ley Bobby Russ Walton Jones Jack Madigan fBack Rowb Ml Loucks John Patterson Harvey Hall Torn Kinney Bill Jones Stanley Gray The Fighting Demons had a most successful 1940 41 basketball season In cluding the tournament games our record showed twelve wins and ten losses Although Coach Loucks had to begin the season mth only one of last years letter men 1941 Captain Jack Madigan he successfully rounded out a squad of commend able players Smce each member of the team was equally efficient in scoring ability the result was a uell balanced team Loyal students who saw the games will long remember the contest with Green ulle which was won in the last seconds of play mth a goal by Jack Whitaker guard L11-reverse they will recall the Cottondale Foley and Krnard games that brought out the stellar ability of the Demons when they embarked on a crushing last mmute attack to score victories in typical style In the finals with Foley the D mons tried vainly to overcome a small lead and mth thirty seconds to play they scored four points Only one point separated the two teams as the final vthrstle bleu Members of the 1940 41 squad who well deserved congratulations for placing second in the tournament were Harvey Hall Jack Whitaker Bobby Russ Bill Jones Jack Madigan Julian Blanche Junior Beasley Tate Smith John Patterson Walton Jones and Tom Kinney Bill Jones star center of the Demons was placed on the C diusron all district squad For this distinction he ieceued a miniature silrer basketball Keep on fighting Florida High Demons' I h 1 1 t x s 1 x .
