In our Freshman year we were an active class. We gave the Fresh-Soph party in December, and the Sophomores returned this party in January, by this time we were better acquainted with one another. Some of oui’ boys lettered in sports. This, was the fact that we were now part of Florence High School and gave us the confidence that we needed. Then came Western Day, this was a chance to prove to the school that we were going to excel in everything we did. We won third place in this contest. Out of our class came a cheer leader. She is Barbara Dorr. Several Sophomores are participating in the Florence Band. As looking forward to next year, we hope to be a very active class, as we are nearing our last years in dear old Florence High. Since we were the new comers we were initiated in an assembly which was viewed by the whole school. All day we felt strange because we knew everyone’s eyes were focused on us. Was that an honor? Well hardly! Although frightened and backward we looked forward to the days to come. In October the customary Frosh-Soph party was given to us by our new associates, the Sophomores. This party was well attended, and we felt better acquainted than before. In January we returned this party and there was a better attendance than before. Then came Homecoming and Western Day. Although we won nothing, it was fun competing against the upper classmen. Next year we hope to enter Florence High as a hard working Class.
