Junior Memories ★ CLASS OFFICERS Second Semester PRESIDENT - - Marriner Cardon VICE PRESIDENT - - - Olin Renfrew SECRETARY ... Marian Betelli TREASURER ... Mary Muir Student Council Representatives Jo Ann Smith and Philip McCandless Class Sponsors—Mrs. Rachel Edwards and Mr. Robert L. Moss ★ First Semester Joe Ruffatti -Loyal Proud -Mary Muir -Robert Cingomelli - September of 1946 ushered sixty green little freshmen into the halls of the Florence High School. Although frightened, we looked forward to what our four years in high school might hold for us. As freshmen, our contest play, A NEW GIRL IN TOWN, won first prize. This gave us our much needed confidence. The sophomores gave us a party so that we could all become better acquainted. Sports were not neglected and we could see a brilliant future for our boys in that field. Already Tom Falgien, Loyal Proud, and Ben Zamarripa had received letters and were initiated into the F” Club. For our second entrance into F.H.S. we had gained a little more confidence. Several of the boys excelled in sports and Olin Renfrew, Gus Vendetti, and Robert Cingomelli were initiated into the “F Club. We must not forget the girls who entered into the activities of Pep Club and G.A.A. Our contest play, JUDY’S JOKE, came in second. This year we gave a party in honor of the “fresh” who had just entered the vast portals of F.H.S. After many delays, late September again found us at FHS. We really had a great responsibility this year for our goal was to make the prom the best ever given. In March we staged our Junior Play, THE RISING SUN, in an effort to gain funds and fame—we did both. This play plus other activities helped us realize that goal—a bigger and better prom. This year Joe Ruffatti, Arthur Solano, Ralph Santarelli, and Milton Smith became “F” Club members. Sports were not the only thing in which we excelled as our class members participated in the various clubs, worked on editorial staffs, and took an active part in musical groups. We now look back on a full and successful year with the memory of a most successful prom still fresh in our minds. So with eyes toward the future and a big year ahead, we await our final entrance into Florence High School. MARY MUIR NANCY BERARDI MARIAN BETTELLI Page Fourteen
