Senior Memories First Semester Don?Id Berardi -James Muir -Dorothy Scutti -Dick Linn ★ CLASS OFFICERS PRESIDENT - VICE PRESIDENT -SECRETARY TREASURER - Second Semester - - Jerry McLoney - Donna Lou Bowman - Helen Huppert - Bernard Zavislan Student Council Representatives Marge Karch and Harley Kier Class Sponsors—Mrs. Verline Moss and Mr. Charles Lennox ★ In the early fall of 1945, forty-nine wide-eyed freshmen entered Florence High School. With frightened eyes we entered the activities of the school. Several members took part in the all-school play. During our Sophomore year our boys continued to excel in the field of sports, and several were initiated into the F” Club. Our annual Freshmen-Sophomore party and also our class picnic were held at the end of the year. Our Junior year brought a sense of responsibility, for we suddenly realized that we had to present a prom for the seniors. With this thought uppermost in our minds, most of our activities were money making events. The Junior Play, LIGHTS OUT, proved to be a great success. Again, because of their outstanding work in football, basketball, and baseball, several more boys were initiated into the “F” Club. As a climax to a successful year, we presented the annual Junior-Senior Prom at the High School Gymnasium. To carry out our theme of MOTHER GOOSE we decorated the dining tables with flowers and candles. The ballroom was lined with characters from the Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes. Then after electing Jerry De Angelo and Mary Nitchen as Head Boy and Head Girl for the coming year we closed the book of our Junior year at Florence High School. Our Senior year started with a feeling of confidence and superiority. Our first big event was the Senior Dance, held at the High School Gym in early November—and very nice it was too, with a theme of A Pretty Girl is Like A Melody.” Second semester was ushered in by our electing Joy Lou Beach and lames Muir as Head Girl and Head Boy. Early in February, the Senior Play, WHAT HAPPENED TO UNCLE, was the hit of the yeai. Three seniors were elected to National Honor Society, several boys to “F” Club—and then Junior-Senior Prom, the very biggest success of the year. Last came Senior Week” with Baccalaureate, Western Day, Class Day, and most important of all. Commencement. And now, as we look back on four years of pleasant memories and happy times, we wish all future FHS graduates the best of everything. HELEN HUPPERT DOROTHY SCUTTI Page Seven
