We as stu- dents, staff and faculty hope you enjoy and identify with our student body, our achieve- ments and our aspirations for the progres- sing, promising future that we foresee. 1974-75 for Florence-Darlington TEC was a year of transition. Transition from a Technical Education Center to a Technical Collegeg from 1794 to 2240 full- time curriculum studentsg from 653 to 1225 veteransg from over 75 high schools to one unified student body. We had an increase of 2 doz. faculty and staff mem- bers and a total course offering of 26 varied curricula and we survivied. The TEC Times kept us up-to- date with news of the college community in the best quality issues in the history of the school. The Student Government Association sponsored activities in the area of intramurals, dan- ces, field days, cookouts and free flicks. Organizations expanded and were created by interested students in the areas of Drama, Chess and Professional develop- ment. Students found lounge activ- ities and facilities satisfying in the wake of study build -up and quite significantly also, our team basketball program experienced state -wide recognition in its most successful season ever. The mens team placed second in the state in the TEC league compiling an 8-5 conference note and 11-8 overall record. What about the 4. 0 student who enjoys nothing better than a trip to our well-stocked libraryg or the nature loving student who reads on the grass- es of the campus or listens to the car tape player during the class breaksg or the lounge freaks who get headaches deciding whether to spend their final quarter in the juke box, foosball or pinball machines, on the pool tables or a new ping pong ballg or how about the lovers that can be seen affectionately walking to class or elsewhere to- getherg or the browsers who divide their time between the bookstore and the library maga- zine shelf when they are not bugging the Student Personnel office with unanswerable ques- tionsg and then there are the carpoolers that hold up traffic load ing and unload ing their cultural clientel for a trip to Midway or Angelo's for re- freshments g or the brown- nosers who spend every free minute doing favors for the facultyg and last but certainly far from least are the soap opera sitters who surround the
