Virginia Showers. FRESI-IMEN The class of '51 made its debut on the Mather campus after rounds of teas, Pink Pig outings, and social gatherings. After weeks of planning schedules, name-taping clothes, and lengthening skirts, the freshmen found themselves at Mather all set for football games, fraternity dances, and concentrated study. Vacation Vexations proved to be one of the best stunts ever to be pro- duced by freshmen. Every class marveled at their ingenuity, cooperative class spirit, and talent. These frosh indeed promise to present many challenging notes of competition to the other classes.. S.. AIS THE CONDUCT OR lifts his baton, the symphony opens with the intro- duction of a spirited movement. Euphonious notes, so long dormant, come to life, expounding the beauty and ideals of their composer. The melody moves at a steady pace, in moderate tempo with the inflection of anticipation and appeal to the intellect. The novelty of the theme is set forth. Thus the Freshmen, like the first movement of a symphony, awake from their childhood dormancy and begin their preparation for adult life. They begin to express the ideals which have been molded for and by them. They bring with them the freshness of a new generation. V President ....... Doris Eppinger Cbazrmen .... - ....
