ELEANOR F. DULAN Miss Dolan, Dean at Mather College, is the supreme consul and a true friend to every Mather student. The scholastic standing, social activities, and personal problems of every girl are her main concern, for it is her sincere desire to satisfy and improve the students' lives on campus. Her many obligations and tedious busi- ness schedule are executed with capability and efficiency, and it is her progressive attitude that earns her recognition and approbation as the leader of Mather College, its faculty, and its students. ' WINFHED G. LEUTNEB Dr. Leutner, President of Western Reserve University, has gained recognition in the nation, in the city of Cleveland, and on campus as a capable president, progressive leader, and true friend. Dr. Leutner graduated from Adelbert College, took his doctoral degree at John Hop- kins University, traveled and studied in Europe, taught at Wittenberg College, came back to Adelbert, and became Dean of University Ad- ministration. As the chief executive of the Uni- versity, Dr. Leutner has befriended Mather girls, attending some of their social functions and ac- tively managing for their best welfare. Now, in the year 1948, Dr. Leutner has announced his resignation as president of Reserve after twenty- five years of service. It is with sincere regret that we learn of his leaving, but we, the students of Mather, express our best wishes for his future happiness. Haw' 'havnt-' - - .L . , ' xv Q H H M. HOUSEMISTRESSES Mrs. Mrs. Mrs. Miss Mrs. Mrs. Mrs. Mrs. Mrs. Mrs. ITH the first downward stroke of the conductor's baton, a note, then a melody, drifts into space. On the night of debut, as the conductor beckons crescendos and cautions diminuendos an impression of rapture and awe is cre- ated. But this night is merely a culmination, not a commencement, for it dis- plays at last the finished product the conductor has lived to make perfect. He has accentuated rhythmic precision, insisted upon smooth transitions from one movement to another, coerced a harmonious blending. The Mather symphony is not without its conductor. The faculty directs and unifies as the student progresses from one year to the next, guiding her along her chosen path and developing the best in each. No tribute fair enough can be written in their praiseg no monument, built high enough to truly reflect the gratitude due those who conduct the Mather symphony. MWM DOROTHY B. BACON Mrs. Bacon, Director of Haydn Hall, manages the various activities and functions of Haydn, Mather's paradise on campus. It is her pleasing personality, winning smile, and cheerful greet- ings that appeal to the Haydn Loungers, all of whom are her friends. She is always available to grant small favors, to consult or to chat for a moment with the girls, for she is devoted to the students at Mather.
