S 2 ' 'AVF Rudyard Kipling once said thot there were five magic lines of poetry in the English language, and that three of these were to be found in Coleridge's Kubla Khan, Though many people think the exotic im- agery employed by Coleridge in this poem was evidence of a purpose-less activity of his unconscious, others prefer to see a meaning in his symbolism.
