Along with a new coach, the Flora Wolfgals used this year mostly for a rehabilitation year. The serving award of 1986-87 was given to Jeanne PottorfT; Amy Coleman was given the setting award; the spiking award went to Kim McGrew along with the MVP award; Debbie Wreath ended up with the blocking award. Beth Reagan, Annette Hubble, and Kim McGrew were chosen for the Sports Writers Award, and Annette Hubble along with Kim McGrew were elected for the CCAP All-Star Team. The Wolfgals went through a very difficult season despite their inexperience and injuries. They’ll be losing only one senior this year. Several people left the team before the season ended leaving the girls with more problems to face. The girls that stayed on the team have learned a lot and have gained more confidence in themselves and each other. However, the team’s hopes soon dwindled as they dropped their next 3 in a row. But the Wolves were determined not to lose their Homecoming Game. Despite a poor first half the Wolf Pack triumphed 34-7 for a decisive victory. Once again things turned sour for the Wolves as they were defeated by Madison and Olney in their last two games. Although they finished with a 3-6 record. Flora had 10 players named to either the Sportswriters or Broadcasters All Conference Teams. They included Tim Locum. Richard Dixon, Troy Workman. The stars will go their separate ways out into the galaxy to find their new beginnings. I wish each and everyone a bright and shining future wherever he or she may go. There are many people to be thanked at the conclusion of this yearbook. First, I would like to thank The Advocate Press and Lindell “Smitty” Smith for all the pictures they provided for our use. Also, thanks to Tammy Dockins and Danny Rogers who have been very supportive and encouraging, and to the Harston staff members for all their time and help. Finally, a very special round of applause goes to Mrs. Riley for her role as ringmaster. Without all her endless time and support, there would not have been a 1987 Circus of Stars. Exit the performers, as another yearbook comes to an end. Tammy Boose 1987 Editor Tammy Boose and Danny Rogers have finished a long, tough job. 119 The FHS Circus — “Then and Now” Year after year the circus comes to town and while the format is the same, the acts arc always different. Just so is life at FHS. We have found that some things around school have changed a lot and others have changed very little from our parents’ high school days. First of all, proving that fads and fashions come and go. the “Go-Go Boots of our mothers (left) have reappeared in only a slightly different form. but today both guys and gals wear two or more designer watches on their arms Also, while mom's skirts were rising rapidly, (Cor-rin Ellis) ours are on their way down to the ankles. (Mary Beth Welch) ‘Then’ long straight hair was in (Mrs. Payne) but ‘now’ it's curls all the way! (Julie Kling) Dad was getting a surfer cut ‘then’ but now the guys arc trimming their shoulder-lenth hair into spikes (Chad Thompson). Pierced ears were a reviving interest a generation ago. This fashion has grown so that now some girls have multiple rings in each ear. (Tambra Brickcr) Although Mom and Dad were part of the Pepsi Generation, we go for the ‘Real thing’, wearing Coke shirts and sometimes even drinking Cokes! But, it seems the more things change, the more stay the same; some FHS students ‘then’ are teachers ‘now’! 120 Abner. Jason . . 42. 84 92, 98 Abner. Michelle... 42, 88 Adams, Candy... 18, 59 Allen.
