Ninety-eight Pass Graduation is a state of mind for the month of May. It involves final projects, final exams, last debates, signing memory books and autograph sheets, fitting caps and gowns, locker cleanout, rehearsal, and finally, baccalaureate and commencement. The graduating class of 1985 featured a record number of awards and scholarships, just as the class had excelled in both academics and athletics throughout the year. SBP Speech Day Provided Entertainment Doug Eaton relaxes in the middle of his presidential campaign. Troy Kurtz raises Brent's hand, who proved to be the champ in the SBP race. During Brent’s speech, surprise guest appearances were made by Buckwheat. Indiana Jones, and “ZZ Top.” Troy Kurtz made the opening speech for Brent and was also Brent's campaign manager. Take our advice,” say Steve Linder and Rob Stocke to Phil Leib. Phil began his speech with an imitation of Paul Harvey. As Rob gave Phil’s opening speech, Steve entertained with a sideshow. Start a new Cycholl of events was Michaela's theme. Nikki made the opening speech as Cycholl campaign supporters paraded across the stage, each displaying a different ’’Cycholl of events, such as the food Cycholl, Psycho I, and psychoneurotic. 11

Into History The class of 1985, led in scholarship by Diana Kingsbury, and close second Susan Pieplow, entered and exited to the traditional “Pomp and Circumstance” played by the concert band. Following the welcome speech were the senior band members playing a most appropriate “If,” the valedictory and salutatory, recognition of awards and scholarships, and at last, the presentation of diplomas as the new graduates walked into history.
