VICKI PAYNE, a seven year veteran of FHS, is the Recordkeeping, Typing I, and Data Processing teacher. She is a graduate of EIU and a National Honor Society sponsor. In her free time she enjoys doing needlework. BILL PHILLIPS is the instructor for Art I, II, III and IV. He has been with FHS for 21 years and is a graduate of Western Illinois University. He is now contemplating an Art Honor Society for which he would be the sponsor. In his spare time he enjoys art, fishing, and softball. HARRY PENRY, Instrumental Music, Vocal Music, Music History, and Music Theory teacher and musical director, has been at FHS for 11 years. He got his BME at SIU-C and MME at ISU. In his free time he enjoys working on antique cars. MICK PETERSON sponsors the Letter-men and coaches the Frosh-Soph football and basketball teams. A graduate of Augustana College and in his 7th year, he is the instructor for Comp. Ill, American Lit., and Creative Lang. l Lit. I. He likes to play golf, tennis, and softball. RICK PORTER is the instructor for Physics, Chemistry, and Geometry. He is beginning his 4th year at FHS and is a graduate of EIU. In his spare time he enjoys many different sports and hunting. Rick also is assistant football and basketball coach. LEW REED is in his 1st year at FHS as head football and track coach as well as instructor for General Math and Algebra I. He is a graduate of Western Illinois University. He enjoys fishing in his spare time. 9

DORTHEA MARTIN, Los Angeles State College and University of Illinois graduate, is in her 13th year at FHS. She instructs Advanced Foods, Fashion Retailing, Child Care, and various other Home Economic classes. In her free time she enjoys reading, swimming, traveling and shopping and also sponsors FHA. CHRIS McQUISTON received her BS in 1969 and her MS in 1975 from Illinois State University. Entering her 13th year at FHS she sponsors the Sophomore Class and teaches Consumer Economics, Ancient History, Modern European History, and Intro, to Political Science. 8 |IM MIGLIN teaches Health and Earth Science. Besides being head baseball and assistant football coach, he referees volleyball and basketball. He is a graduate of EIU and a city commissioner. An 11 year veteran of FHS he enjoys playing softball, tennis, golf, horse-back riding, and fishing in his spare time. DEBRA NESTEL is in her first year at FHS. She is a graduate of Indiana University. She currently teaches PE and Driver's Ed. She is the head volleyball coach and assistant coach for girls' basketball. Her spare time activities include playing racquetball, swimming, and snow skiing. |OE McCOY, a graduate of EIU, is on his 8th year. He is the instructor for Speech and English and the drama sponsor. His hobbies include only what he referred to as Star (Bart) gazing and following The Pack (Green Bay Packers). LES O'DELL has been with FHS for 11 years. He is the wrestling coach and Drafting and Woodworking teacher. He is a graduate of EIU and a referee for volleyball.

ANNE RILEY has spent 16 glorious years at Flora High. At present she teaches Mythology, Survey of English-Lit. Ill, and Advanced Composition IV. She is a graduate of McKendree College. In her free time she enjoys FHS spectator sports (especially football and volleyball). Playing with grandchildren, doing needlework, reading, and gardening rank high on her list, also. DONNA SMITH is in her 7th year at FHS. She is the instructor for Shorthand I, Clerical Practice, Typing II, Executive Secretarial Practice and also is a sponsor of the National Honor Society and the Business Club. A graduate of EIU, she likes to garden. 10 PEGGY RIPPERDAN, a graduate of SIU-C is in her 12th year at FHS. She is the Physical Education instructor. In her spare time, she likes to play golf, go boating, and read. KAY SPITZNER is the Algebra and II, Senior Math, and Vocational Math teacher. A graduate of SIU-C, she is the sponsor of the Math Club and Mu Alpha Theta. Having taught here for 22 years, this was her last. When she has spare time, she enjoys babysitting for her grandchildren, camping, sewing, knitting, reading, and listening to music. TOM RIVER has been teaching at FHS for four years. He teaches Spanish I, II, III, and IV. He is a sponsor for the Sophomore Class as well as Spanish Club sponsor. He is a graduate of SIU-E, who likes to play piano. JOANNE STANFORD is involved in the Success Program at FHS and is in her first full year of teaching. She is a graduate of EIU and enjoys bridge, traveling, and visiting historic sites.
