Left: Right: HE man who was destined to hecome principal ot' Iilora High School in 1955, Byron Keith Rose. was born in Olive Hill, Kentucky. on February 20, 1921. He attended Ging Grade School with his playmate. Ben Iones, One day they had a slight misunderstanding and took up the art of rock throwing. Bens reward was a knot on his head. for which our principal had to apologize. Mr. Rose attended Rushville High School beginning in his sophomore year. I-Ie was the shy type. but in his senior year he admits to going steady in an unsteady way. He was graduated from Ball State Teachers College with a BS. degree and was then drafted into the army to serve Uncle Sam. During that time he changed his ambition from teacher to principal. Upon his discharge from the army, Mr, Rose attended Butler University part time lor two years and received his MS. degree. At the same time, he taught commerce at Arlington High in Rush County for four years. While at Arlington, he was married to Norma Carpignano. of Napa. California. A promotion took Mr. Rose to Stockwell as principal for three years. He also taught commerce and social studies. In the summer of 1932, he attended Indiana Universityg in the summer of 1955, Purdue. The Roses have one son. jeffrey, who is five. Their daughter. Diane, is two years old. B. KEITH ROSE. Principal The Rose family
