THE 1953 Jlorian Volume 5 MONROE TOWNSHIP SCHOOL FLORA, INDIANA Familiar scenes would carry few lasting memories if Mother and Dad had not created and maintained them for us. Their guidance, their words of encouragement, and their ever understanding love have played a most important role in molding our lives. Never again can we be blessed more abundantly than we have already been, for parents are an unsurpassable gift. To Mothers and Dads, one and all, we dedicate this 1953 FLORIAN as a token of our love for, and appreciation of, each of them. We have gotten the old album out and dusted it off. Here is a wonderful storehouse of memories of 1952-53 life in Flora High . . . our advisors . . . our friends . . . our activities. Watch closely . . . don’t miss a thing as we turn these pages filled with golden memories of our school days. 3 Rochester Ke anna Perry sb Logansp ' Hopedale Rockheld, .man Walton Camden Burlington Pettit Edna wwossville i Russtavdle Michigant J n 'v'f’Vir Kempton f Cvctor PiCKard Sheridan Roann Denvef Hjjrtm, Peer a vert AD Conversi Swayjee 7 Greentown Fair rnpunt Fowlertor Sharpsville l W ndfali West I 'w j Atlanta frankioi Arcadia yi ove Westfield wINoblesville Clarhsv ‘:e 6 People ADMINISTRATION .............. 8 FACULTY ..................... 9 SENIORS .....................11 JUNIORS .............-.......16 SOPHOMORES ..................18 FRESHMEN ....................20 JUNIOR HIGH..................22 ELEMENTARY ..................24 RUSSELL D. Do I have one of yours? was the refrain when senior name cards arrived. Height. Chest measure? Head size? Three dollars, please! Five minutes—plow down the hall, rummage through the locker for the right books, last minute cramming, riisfi in the Sunshine room, and a wild dash to class before that bell rings! . . . though slightly dazed by the fact of being seniors, they promptly assumed their new tasks ... the arrival of name cards and pictures created a buzz through the halls as they exchanged with one another . . . being known for their originality, they decided to take psychology the second semester instead of the customary economics . . . finally, as Commencement invitations were sent and they were measured for caps and gowns, they realized that their last and most memorable year in F.H.S. was about to end . . .
