 HI-Y is a Christian organization sponsored by the Y.M.C.A. It promotes clean speech, clean sportsmanship, clean scholarship, and clean living. Their project this year was to put glass doors on the trophy case. With their advisor, Robert Jarrett, the boys were host at the district Hi-Y convention, October 22, in our new auditorium. Formal initiation was October 10 at the Flora Church of the Brethren. Some Sunshine projects were: selling Christmas cards, selling ice cream at the ballgames, and furnishing a new Sunshine room in the gym. The girls sponsored a Dad-Daughter Banquet the latter part of February. Many girls attended the District Convention at Rensselaer and the State Convention at Lafayette. Isaacs. FORMAL INITIATION

 Under the direction of C. Joseph Anderson, a military system was instituted in the BAND. There are a captain, four sergeants, and the remaining members are privates. Within the organization there is a pep band” and a brass band” who have played for local clubs and Rotary. At Christmas time the brass band played carols in the halls. The band successfully completed this year by giving a local Spring Concert and participating in the County Music Festival at Delphi. BRASS BAND CLARINETS—Front row: J. Calhoun, Marvin, Shanks.
