‘DectccatuM To the sons and daughters of Flora High School who have served their country in World War II, to those who are now engaged in the Korean conflict, and especially in memory of those who have given their lives, THE 1952 FLORIAN staff respectfully dedicate this book. cvo ‘poneawid Telecasting! F. H. S. is on the air. In the 1952 edition of the Florian, you will see many familiar scenes as caught by the eyes of the local TV cameramen. Through the cooperation of the F. H. S. studio and its sponsors these scenes have been reproduced for your enjoyment. First we will introduce our studio which may be found on channels 1 through 12. Next on the screen are the famous Quiz Kids with their master of ceremonies, R. D. Callane. Since programs couldn’t be without sponsors, ours will try to sell you such products as Sunshine and music. Finally the programs begin and we see life as it actually is at F. H. S. We hope, as you look upon our screen, that you will enjoy our TV programs as much as we have enjoyed presenting them. Another duty is to serve as librarians for the school library. Mr. Callane is the sponsor and meetings may be called by him or with his consent. LIBRARY To inspire young people interested in agriculture, an organization called the FUTURE FARMERS of AMERICA was established in Flora High School last year under the direction of Harold Thompson. This organization is designed to provide additional experience for boys who are progressing toward the goal of satisfactory establishment in a farming business. F.F.A. members have a splendid opportunity to learn how to handle themselves and to deal with others in an organization that embodies the fundamentals of a true democracy. After losing the Regional Basketball Tournament to the Kokomo Wildcats 35 to 28 in the finals on March 1, attention could be directed toward other sports. A Will Be-Has Been game was played, with the Has Beens emerging victorious 45-30. While the Badgers were attending a Hoosicr Conference banquet at West Lafayette, Dick Sink was named on the conference first team and Dale Day was named on the second team. The local Community Club also honored the players with a banquet at which each Senior member received a gold basketball. Flora won the trophy at the County Track Meet held at Delphi on April 29, and Bill Fouts was awarded a trophy for highest individual scoring. Sjit titty ?itKe When Bob tried the sawing a woman in half magic trick on the principal's daughter, it didn’t work! The borrowed formal coat hidden in a laundry bag was dyed bright yellow; his girl threw him over for a college man ; and when Mrs. Parker entertained the P.T.A. ladies so that they might see Bob's home life, they became the victims of a series of home-made booby traps set by the kid brother. After many such disasters, Bob came out on top of the world in the Senior play which was directed by Mrs. Effie Douglas. s0floR baNQu6T ’’ 2“ “pH 1,5 3 oia cdflgk School reyueiti tk. ftUaiuze of your company and tfiat of a yue.it at a formal ZPxom and Bxeakfait In Honor of iHe Clan of 1952 Jtfay 3, 1932 9:00 P. cM- until 3:00 .
