The first few weeks the upperclassmen didn't treat us too well. The sophomores had us carrying our books in a bucket for a week which was very tiresome. The officers for the year were Dick Bishop, president; Jerry McCracken, vice president; Tom Allen, secretary; Philip Wikle, treasurer; and Fritz Schnepf Jr., student council. Miss Metzger was our class sponsor. With one year down and three to go, we were glad our freshmen days were over and on our way being jolly sophomores. There were twenty-six of us. This year we chose our class rings and received them near the end of the school year. For a class party we went to the Deer Creek Conservation Park for a weiner roast. The following officers were elected: Dick Bishop, president; Jerry McCracken, vice president; Tom Allen, secretary; Louise Bums, treasurer and Fritz Schnepf Jr., and Joanna Spitler, student council. Mr. Caughell was our class sponsor. A profitable third year was launched with Dick Bishop, president; Joanna Spitler, vice president; Jerry Wiles, secretary; Alberta Cox, treasurer and Tom Allen, Bill Bewley and Jerry McCracken, student council. Mr. Thomp; son was our class sponsor. Our junior play, a three act farce comedy, Let Me Out of Here was presented November 12, 1948. The cast consisted of Lorelle lcckson, Alberta Cox, Marjorie Zeek, Louise Burns, Joanna Spitler, Lloyd Smith, Dick Bishop, Jerry Wiles, Jerry McCracken and Fritz Schenpf Jr. Miss Stanton directed the play. Our last great accomplishment for the junior year was our preparation for the junior-senior reception. An evening of dining and dancing was provided for the juniors, seniors, school board members and faculty at the Purdue Union Building. At last the golden year came. Eighteen of us now set out to finish our last and most eventful year. Graduation pictures were taken October 6. For our class party we went to Turkey Run. To steer us through our last year we elected Lloyd Smith, president; Bill Bewley, vice president; Joretta Sheagley, secretary; Lorelle Jackson, treasurer and Joanna Spitler, Dick Bishop, Tom Allen and Jerry Wiles, student council. Mr. Thompson was our class sponsor. Behind us we leave these happy memories as a reminder of our achievements.
