The members of the teom acred os models and several members did dromone readings. Ungue Expressions by Martha Gregory, Jon's Foshions, and The Fashion Man provided rhe dorhmg and helped with the decorations The fashion show mode enough money ro send 21 students ro the Rozotbock Forensic Tournament that was held tn Fayetteville on rhe University of Arkansas campus in October The Rozorbock Tournament gave the ream rhe incentive they needed to keep going. Vernon Dewey was awarded rhe first place trophy in interpretation of poetry. The team was invited to sped at the Dun Shods Lokeview notary luncheon meeting n the fan of 1979. The Rotary was nice enough ro invite rhe speech ream bads for rhe third year in a row and mode a donation of $100 The winter months found the speech ream hurriedly preparing for the first tournament ro be held m rhe spring The ream was planning to attend rhe Lakeside Tournament in Hot Springs bur Mrs Durge hod her baby so rhe trip was postponed In March, rhe ream got busy and boned up for the Arkansas State University Forensic Tournament which was held in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
