Flint Shown The Best Education Day Parade held October 4, 1980 45 minutes down Saginaw Street through downtown Flint City-wide participation to promote education in Flint Included 120 units of floats, bands, and cheerleaders Big crowd observing despite very cold temperatures and biting winds Academy’s float constructed by Ringlein Family, National Honor Society, Parent Advisory Council and a few volunteers Two weeks of hard work paid off Academy’s float dubbed best entry No prize- Only pride for a job well done.
