M Division H : km amsf m : The continuous operation of the many engines, compressors, gears, and other odd machinery aboard FLINT depends upon the skill of the Machinist Mates of M Division. They are responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of this machinery and excel at it. Working side by side with B Division, these snipes keep FLINT steaming to its next commitment.

First Division Keeping the weather decks forward of the superstructure ship shape is the job First Division. In addition to preservation and main- tenance, like their ship- mate ' s in Second Divi- sion, First Division stand bridge watches, man unrep stations and boat crews. These men and women have a job that combines tradition and skill. These sailors are definitely salty dogs .
