Gin rophec yy Twenty years hence, and what a vast change in the lives of the '52 graduates of Fletcher High School! Just about this time in '52 we were all excited about graduation. I bet those good teachers at Fletcher are wondering what has become of us all. Well, this is just to let them know how successful we really turned out to be. Way over on the other side of the world in China, we find Reva Ballard, a missionary, teach- ing all those yellow boys and girls good living as well as good English. Coming a little closer home, we visita dairy farm over on Mills River owned by Vernon McMinn. Lillian Carney, whohadplannedto be a stock car driver, was side tracked into being a model. The great big city of New York has attracted one young lady. Doris Wilkie owns and operates a large school of dancing and expression there. Next, we visit Lucille Connor, Superintendent of Moore General Hospital, taking care of the veterans of the last war. Albert Lance finally became manager of a junk yard where he sells ''A'' models and runs a first class pool room for his old friends of Fletcher as a means of recreation. Morris Walker has become the manager of a class D baseball team whichwon a pennant every year. He's doing so well that we hear his name has been proposed for commissioner. Roberta Russell, finally interestedinthe Salvation Army, became an officer in its organization and made several trips to foreign countries preaching the gospel of God and Faith in the Salva- tion Army. Martha Qualls finally became a ballet dancer in the Ziegfield Follies of '72. We are very proud of one particular member of our class who became interested in politics and became the first woman vice-president of the United States, Mrs. Betty Kent. Myra Sue Walker became head of a school for girls in Palm Beach, Florida. Way upin the hills is Willie Mae West living on top of a cold mountain. Her husband is in the logging business. Betty Jean Fletcheris the superintendent of an Orphan's Home for boys, branch of the Moun- tain Sanitorium at Naples. Charles Ruth became the President of the First National Bank of Asheville, and he drives the biggest, shiniest Cadillac in town. Bobby Lee Barnwell is the Jose’ Iturbi of the modern age appearing currently with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. Well, I guess you are wondering who I am. I am Doris Emory, retired show girl witha broken and ruined voice. I have just completed my book on how to acquire a slender figure in ten easy lessons.
