Recreational Therapy STEEL BEACH Being underway for any length of time is often boring and monotonous, with Unreps, exer- cises, and normal underway watches. FLETCHER personnel have devised several ways of coping with this situation - Sunbathing, Swimming, and Flight Deck Cookouts - are several of them. FLETCHER has space for any class of sunbather, it ' s just a matter of finding where and when each class practices. The true professional never misses a nooner on the Oi level (top), while the beginner takes a more relaxed attitude and catches a few rays on the fantail, and is often heard saying I can get a tan wearing anything. Only 100 N.M. north of the USS INDIANAPOLIS disaster of World War II. The place was sobering, but all went to work at having a good time. From the look-outs, to the shark watch on deck, to the shark watch in the motor whale boat, all including the swimmers enjoyed the sun and the SO ' ' water. I 35
