High X goals set students apa tX. People all over have goals that they want to reach and we are no ex- ceptions. It is one thing to set a goal, but it's another to have the willingness to accomplish it. And that's what we have, the willing- ness to achieve. When David Taylor was asked his goal for his first year he replied, My goal is to just pass 7th grade, at least for right now. '7 just want to graduate, said senior Donnie White, with a smile. Not everyone's goal is the same. Eighth grader, Lor- retta Ross had an unusual goal. ‘7 just want to grow taller, she said. Many students wish to make good grades, meet new friends, play basket- ball, or catch an eleventh or twelfth grader and go to the Prom. Some want to overcome fears, like Teresa Maxwell. My goal is to overcome my shyness and have the ability to speak out. Many students set goals, but one thing that sets them apart from all the others is that they set their goals high and usually accomplish them or at least have fun trying.

helping hand the first day of school were the senior boys as they un- loaded equipment that would go to the remodeled home economics department. Center: Checking out the bulletin board were Gina Burton. Duane Simmons and Lorna Vincent. Bottom: To make room for the new tennis courts a bulldozer was used to carve up the hillside. The tennis courts are just one of the many re- modeling efforts going on at the high school. Above: The first days of school were hectic as students and teachers tried to put things in order. Mr. Don- ald Kenyon handed out books the first week of school to Pre-algebra student Teena Saucer. 10 Right: Seventh grade is a new mark for these students attend- ing high school for the first time. Mr. Greg Zimmerman's class showed how great they felt to be at the school.
