How the West was Won Once upon a time way out West in the rapidly growing town of CARRIE, which is located in the northern part of southern Oregon, there was the most terrible, awful, meanest villian; he didn’t even brush his teeth. He was the terrible Mr. JAWS, who went around deafening whole cities with his hideous renditions of BETH. The people of CARRIE didn't want to be deafened so they sent for the best good-doers of all time, CHARLIE'S ANGELS. THE ANGELS got on this train called the SILVER STREAK for CARRIE. ERIC, the mayor of CARRIE met the girls at the train station and told them his problem. He also let them know that Mr. JAWS had a partner to sing harmony, (which he couldn’t), but he later made it big on his own. He was the young KING KONG. THE ANGELS told ERIC that they would have to send for STARSKY AND HUTCH. When the boys got the word they headed for CARRIE. STARSKY AND HUTCH and THE ANGELS devised a plan to catch Mr. JAWS and KING KONG. They rented the amphitheater and pretended to be a rock group called HELTER SKELTER. The day before the concert the ANGELS got a call from the leader of a group called ROOTS. Since there was no group around CARRIE with that name they knew that it must really be Mr. JAWS and KING KONG, the ones who might have been BORN INNOCENT but grew up vicious. That night, just before the concert, STARSKY AND HUTCH and the ANGELS were getting the trap ready. They built an invisible sound-proof booth over the whole stage. After it was all finished the girls said to STARSKY AND HUTCH, “TONIGHT’S THE NIGHT.” “Yeah, I guess so girls. We’d better get ready.” The ANGELS then said, “We don’t know if we can do it.” The boys replied, “IF YOU LEAVE ME NOW we can’t catch them. Here take these ear plugs so you don’t have to listen.” ROOTS came out and started to sing. The ANGELS then gave STARSKY AND HUTCH the signal and the boy dropped the sound-proof booth on ROOTS. They kept on singing and sang each other deaf. Afterwards they promised to never sing again. Everyone said, “From now on there will be nothing in the West but HAPPY A survey taken by the Journalism class showed that the following were the favorites of Flemington High students for the 1976-77 school year.
