COURTESY OI-' HISTORICAL SOCIETY OF MONTANA Flathead County High School uses terms sym- bolic ot the Flathead Indian for the names oi its organizations. athletic teams and, publications. We think it is only fitting that our 1957 yearbook should help to carry out this tradition. We have done this with color prints by Charles M. Russell, Montana's native-born artist. and with still-life pictures of authentic Indian articles from the collection of Frank B. Linderman, Montana's western writer. This was made possible by the Historical Society ot Montana from whom we borrowed the copper plates for the reproduction of the Russell paintings and by Mrs. Norma Linderman Waller who allowed us to photograph her tather's collection at the Mu- 07:6 WWC seum ot the Plains Indians in Browning, Montana. Ink caricatures portraying our faculty were drawn for us by lack Waller, the grandson of Frank B. Linderman. Our thanks go to Miss Dorothy Schoknecht and Mr. Richard Nelson, sponsors of our yearbook, and to the members oi our 1957 Flathead staff for the time and effort they have contributed.
