The Annual Staff Presents The 1974-75' Annual— Table of Contents Student Life Administration Activities ‘ Sports Classes 2 9 23 39 59 Flandreau High School Flandreau, South Dakota Never a Dull Moment Flandreau High School seems to be moving all the time. One thing always leads to another, and there usually is never a dull moment. Coming in before school, you can see students making rounds before classes. If they aren't walking around talking about the week-end's latest happenings, the kids are running around getting in last moment details . . . 2 Lunch, Way of Life ... A very big happening in the school is when students go for lunch. Now here is a very amusing event. You see all sorts of kids running, walking, or being stopped by one of the teachers and put at the end of the line . . . J . . . The tradition of Homecoming has always been exciting. Homecoming this year consisted of, Little Orpheum, a Parade, Pep Rally, the Game, and a dance following. King and Queen were picked and another Homecoming went by . 4 5 Making It up As spring gets near, the students at FHS get itchy. If you pass through the halls, you can see the students racing up and down-just waiting to get out. Unfortunate- ly, spring did not come early this year. We had had an expected snow storm and missed a week of school. Sure it was fun at the time, but now the time has come to make that work up . . . Spring has sprung and it is the time for squirt guns and water balloons. FHS is a great place for these gadgets, and if you're not careful, you will get hit. As the days drag on, kids get restless and can't wait to get out. The seniors lucked out and don't have to go the extra week. Hang in there, Baby- the 29th is coming . . . 7 These Were the Best Years Well the seniors finally made it. Many are asking themselves, Where did those four years go? As they say those four years are the best of your life, and they passed like water rushing down stream. As you go through our annual, hopefully you will see some of the BEST YEARS OF OUR LIFES as we TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS ! 8 Administration Study in Style Pictured at the Top of the Page, Seated at the Left is Miss Darlene Settergren and at the Right is Mr. Dann Cecil. An appreciation supper was posted in May for those people in the community who helped with the judging teams. 35 Juniors Host Banquet-Prom The juniors started decorating the Banquet and Prom areas Monday, May 5th. Various committees had been named in advance for those things that needed to be completed. This made the gigantic task of decorating much easier. Gayle Johnson and her committee were respon- sible for the table decorations at both the Banquet and Prom. Mim Amdahl was chairman of the committee for the Banquet area at the Methodist Church. Mim and her committee decorated it with blue starred streamers. One wall was completely covered with star paper with the theme of the Prom written on it. The site for Prom was the Spafford gym. Teri Sutton and her committee started right away by hanging the ceiling streamers of blue and silver. Pink and burgandy streamers for the table area were then put into place. The framework for the wishing well was completed, and the roof was covered with brown and yellow pomps. The base was covered with contact paper resembling bricks. As Saturday approached, the finishing touches were added to these two areas. All was in readiness when the juniors and their guests J6 entered for the Banquet on Saturday, May 10th. The Banquet was held at the Methodist Church on May 10. Once everyone had finished eating, the presi- dent of the junior class, Brian Benson, wel- comed everyone. Senior class president, Dick Wiese, responded for the seniors, who were the guests. Liv Mari Mryvang, a foreign exchange student, related to the group how well she had enjoyed her senior year at FHS. Following a song by the Swing Choir, the 75 king and queen were named. They were. Prom queen, Rhonda Ailts, and Prom King, Bill Fargen. 37 Enchanted Evening The Prom dance was again held at the Spafford gym, which was decorated in the senior's colors of bur- gandy and silver. One entered the Prom through an archway of green and white pomps. Immediately to the left stood a colorful water fountain that shot water six feet or more in the air. The walls and ceiling were decorated with blue and silver streamers. In the middle of the ceiling hung a huge silver ball that rotated. The table area was separated from the dance floor by streamers and pomp trees. Each table had a different colored candle on it to provide light for the area. . 38 Sports Randy Wilts Randy Oldenkar Kent Luttman Steve Ullom Bill Fargen Greg Schliinz Kent Whipkey Matt Amdahl Terry Nelson Dave Lee Paul Powers Mark Rose Jeff Nelson Steve Dietrich Dave Christensen Tim Nelson Scott Duncan Jeff Dietrich ini EF1I Varsity 5-2 in Conference The Fliers overall record in the conference was five wins and two losses. Every member works at least once throughout the year. The Juniors also sell magazines to raise money. From these sales, the Juniors receive a certain percentage of the total sales. This money is then used for the financing of the Prom. Any extra money is put in the class trea- sury and kept until the senior year. The money can then be used to do- nate something to the school, such as plaques, etc. Sophomores—Keep on, Keepin on Theodore Aarestad Frances Ahlers Cordell Albers Doug Alberts Kathy Ambura Dona Ida Armstrong Kenny Armstrong Tammy Bauer Dale Bennett Michele Billiam Brian Bonde Janet Bonrud Stephen Broghammer William Burrell Renee Christensen Brian Christenson Dave Christenson Juanita Cochran Richard Damm Micheal Dibbern Pictured at tjie Left Are the Soph- omore class officers.
