“In the Shadows ” Wins Title As Best Play Winning the local one act play competition was In the Shadows by Le Ronca Greth. Donna Dahl was student director. The cast is in the Middle Picture. They are Donna Dahl, Kevin Blum, Patti Olson, Paul Milman, Linda Wolterstorff, John Bechan, and Mr. Lowell Linder, faculty advisor. Best actor was John Bechan, and best actress was Linda Wolterstorff. Between acts, the high school German band and the Gateway Singers performed between plays. Stage helpers were Cindy Lyford, Donis Erickson, Robyn Whitesel, Shirley Pray, Jayne Mengenhauser, Diane Christensen, Rita McMahon, Julene Tjarks, Terri Sutton, Lavonne Kramer, Julie Powers, Elsie Pray, Kathy Doyle, Dwight Gullickson, and Gayle Johnson. 20

Love and Kisses Tells It All On the fifth of April at 8:00 p. m. in the FHS gym the curtain rose on Love and Kisses . This family comedy by Anita Rowe Block was chosen by the class of '74 for their senior class play. The play is about the Pringles: mother, father, engaged daughter, and eighteen year old son. They live in a Detroit suburb. The approaching wedding of Elizabeth and a young lawyer, Freddy take up the spotlight, until grad- uation day when Buzzy announces that he has just married his girlfriend, Rosemary. It is discovered that the two did not have to get married, but that this is a mating of innocents. The play centers around the comical problems that the two young couples and their parents encounter. Brad Sanderson played the part of Jeff Pringle, Linda Jacobson was Carol Pringle, Kathy Dibbern was Elizabeth, Paul Sampson was Freddy, Chuck Sutton played Buzzy, Ruth Ann Larson was Rosemary, Colleen Parsley played the nanny, and Mike Powers was J.J. Jones. The students direct- ing the play were Marda Powers and Jean Neprud. The faculty advisor and director was Mrs. Nancy Moose. 19

Cast members were Lee Severtson, Brian Bonde, Corinne Headrick, Glenda Stewart, Lori Hammer, Pam Lokken, Brad Whaley and Lisa Hammer. The cast of Empherema Two Zero , by Joe V. Graber, dir- ected by Calla Hogue and Darci Dappen, was Kathy Doyal, Deb Cloud, Enid Ekern, Linda Jacobson, Lori Stahl, Kim Stimpson, Brad Sanderson, Steve Gill, Colleen Parsley, Mark Sampson, and Lloyd Nace. 21
