 The band brought home sixteen superior ratings from the contest at Madison. The following groups and individuals received first ratings: clarinet quartet, drum ensemble, brass sextet, standard clarinet quartet, French horn trio brass choir, miscellaneous clarinet choir, flute duet, Kerry Thomas, Brian Cox, Dave Lee, snare drum; Rhonda Locke, clarinet; Becky Schmidt, comet; Janis Rahn, Flute; Louie Otey, tuba, and Shirley Sneve, bass clarinet. June 2nd through the 5th, 1972, the band took a trip to Rapid City for the Dakota Days Band Festival . The band took part in a mass band, a concert, a parade, and a marching exhibition. This fall the band marched in the Augustana Vik- ings Days Parade in Sioux Falls. The band directed by Mr. Ronald Lorensburg, presented three concerts. This year, the band combined with the chorus for a Christmas Con- cert. The other concerts were a Pops Concert held in February, and the annual Spring Concert in April. The 1973 All State Band was held in Sioux Falls at the Arena. Representing our school were Janis Rahn, flute; Louie Otey, tuba; and Shirley Sneve, bass clarinet.

Humor Wit in Our Girls On Friday, April 6th, the Senior Class presented Our Girls, by Conrad Seiler. The play centers around Mr. and Mrs. Love joy and their three children who are to receive an inheritance from their Aunt Jessie.
