 13” Lucky Number fur FHS Band The fifteenth annual All-State Band was held at the Sioux Falls Washington High School. The 160 members were selected from more than 1300 stu- dents who auditioned throughout the state of South . Dakota. Thirteen students from our school partic- ipated in the band. This was the highest number of students from any of the 62 schools that were represented. Composer and arranger, Dr. Paul Yoder, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was guest con- ductor. Dr. Yoder is immediate past president of the American Bandmaster's Association. With much instruction and an endless amount of patience, Mr. Ron Whalen, our director, guided these thir- teen musicians to their honors and the rest of the band to an important place in the school. The talented thirteen include: Stonding: Joan Stuedeman, Cathy Campbell, Jody Olson, LeAnn Meeker, Janice Lud- gate, JoEllen Gullickson, and Shirley Sorenson. Seated: Susie Rosheim, Steve Solem, Jim Rewalt, John Fenner, and Lucille Maxwell. Twenty one Superiors Earned at Madison Contest Miscellaneous Clarinet Choir: Rosheim, Thomas, Jones, Miles, Ekern, andAlberts. Meeker, Stuede- man, Maxwell, Ludgate, and Sorenson.
