In 1928, six years after his death, the school was named for Dr. Spafford. He had come to the Dakota Territory in 1884. to establish a medical practice. He became the 1st Mayor of Randreau; 1st Librarian; served 27 years on the School Board. His only child. Lillian, married Walter Rolfe. a pharmacist They established Rotfe's Dr ug Store. Their only daughter died in childbirth of her only child, a son. He was named Phillip Rolfe Knighi..and Rolfe'' started with our 1st Grade in the school named after his Great-Grandpa. Rolfe lived with his Grandparentsu.untll his father remarried, then he moved back to California.
