Football Leading our football team this year as co-captains were Bill Duffy and Glen Hansen Even though our opponents outscored us 148 to 97, Flanagan played several exciting games Our Midstate record was 3 victories, 2 losses, and l tie, which putus in 4th place. Our homecoming game was with Lexington on October 30th, and it turned out a victory for the Falcons. Cheerleaders I-lit itl Our cheerleaders have had a front-seat view of the Falcons as we cheered them on to victory. They have enjoyed cheering for such a fine team. Beverly Schell, janet Zehr, Willadean Odle and Linda Booker four mascotj have been cheerleaders for three years. Myra johnson joined the squad for the senior year. These girls cheered for football as well as basketball. Practice was held every Wednesday night during the summer months and occasionally throughout the year. During these sessions the cheer- leaders stated that they practiced old cheers. worked up new cheers, planned their outfits and caught up on the local gossip. The girls gave the following comments about their cheerleading. Bev Schell - My favorite sport is football. lhave enjoyed being a cheerleader at F,H.S. for three years, and I hope that the future cheerleaders have as much fun as T did. janet Zehr - My favorite sport is basketball. I have enjoyed being a cheerleader for the past three years at our school. lhave found great satisfaction in cheering the team on to victory and have enjoyed most the students' interest in yelling for the team. I really enjoyed both football and basketball cheering, and, if I had a choice again, I would surely want to do it over. Myra johnson - My favorite sport is football. I have enjoyed being a part of the cheerleading squad and representing the Falcons during my senior year. I hope the future cheerleaders have as many good times as I did. Wllladean Odle - My favorite sport is football. I've enjoyed being a cheerleader for three years and I'm sure I'll never forget it. With all the kids yelling and the team winning, it was a wonderful experience . Linda Booker - My favorite sport is basketball. I like to cheer for the boys . I wish I could be a cheerleader next year, but I start to school theng and I'll have to do all my homework. When I get big, though, I want to be a cheerleader again. The cheerleaders of 1959-60 want to thank all the students for all the noise they helped produce at games. They really appreciated it.
