During the year choral groups performed at several civic, church, and school affairs . Contestants in solos and ensembles performed at a concert on Sunday afternoon, February 21, at the high school. A choral concert was presented on Tuesday, March 29. District 147 music contest for solos and ensembles of the choruses was held at Paxton on February 27. Chorus entries numbered thirteen. Three of them received superior ratings . Nine received seconds and one received a third. District contest for the organizations was held in Paxton on April 2. The three choruses received superior ratings . State music contest was held in Macomb at Western State Teachers' College on Friday April 22. One solo and one ensemble placed first, and one ensemble placed second. The boys' chorus and the mixed chorus received superior ratings 5 the girls' chorus received an excellent rating. It was a successful year for the choruses, and Mr. Roth and the vocalists feel that progress was made.
