ROW 1: Norma Johnson, Larry Wilson, Jean Barth, Janet Thiel. ROW 2: Jim Wiechmann, Richard Dippon, Jerry Voss, Mr. Hoover, Sonja Schneider, John Gorman. Student Council This year the Student Council was headed by President Larry Wilson, Vice-President Norma johnson, and Secretary-Treasurer Jean Barth. Other Council members were janet Thiel, John Gorman, jerry Voss, Richard Dippon, Sonja Sclmeider, and jim Weichmann. Our sponsor was Mr. Hoover. The main project of the year was the planning of homecoming activities . This included the election and crowning of royalty, parade, and the dance which was held several weeks later. The Council members had a car wash to help finance this dance, where the George Nichols' Orchestra of Streator furnished the music. Probably our biggest success was the Volleyball Night. Everyone who attended had a lot of fun and got plenty of exercise. A 'Iwirp Party was also sponsored. Crowned King and Queen 'Iwirp were Jack Carls and Cheryl Molln. Other activities were a dress-up day and a picnic the last day of school. The Cotuicil worked out an orderly method of Senior-ority, picked the assemblies for the coming year, sold candy in the office during noon hours, furnished refreshments for afternoon parties, and kept the Coke machine filled. For anyone who worked on the Council, it was an exciting and rewarding year.

Homecoming King .lwzzq WMM One of the hi-points in Larry's life has been being elected as Homecoming King of 1959 Larry is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Wilson and arrived on January 31, 1942. Larry looks back thru his years at FCHS and particularly remembers playing basket- ball, working on the yearbook, meeting Miss America, and making many lifetime friend- ships . Reading, dating, and playing basketball are Larry's favorite pastimes: but, he also enjoyed the movie, The Ten Commandments, which is his favorite. I-le is also on the look-out for a wonderful girl who is particularly good at cooking steaks, his favorite food. Larry attends Meadows Mennonite Church and is very active in the church work. He hopes to attend Wheaton College and a seminary. Then he plans to enter the ministry either at home or in a foreign field.
