ROW 1: Norma Johnson, Larry Wilson, Jean Barth, Janet Thiel. ROW 2: Jim Wiechmann, Richard Dippon, Jerry Voss, Mr. Hoover, Sonja Schneider, John Gorman. Student Council This year the Student Council was headed by President Larry Wilson, Vice-President Norma johnson, and Secretary-Treasurer Jean Barth. Other Council members were janet Thiel, John Gorman, jerry Voss, Richard Dippon, Sonja Sclmeider, and jim Weichmann. Our sponsor was Mr. Hoover. The main project of the year was the planning of homecoming activities . This included the election and crowning of royalty, parade, and the dance which was held several weeks later. The Council members had a car wash to help finance this dance, where the George Nichols' Orchestra of Streator furnished the music. Probably our biggest success was the Volleyball Night. Everyone who attended had a lot of fun and got plenty of exercise. A 'Iwirp Party was also sponsored. Crowned King and Queen 'Iwirp were Jack Carls and Cheryl Molln. Other activities were a dress-up day and a picnic the last day of school. The Cotuicil worked out an orderly method of Senior-ority, picked the assemblies for the coming year, sold candy in the office during noon hours, furnished refreshments for afternoon parties, and kept the Coke machine filled. For anyone who worked on the Council, it was an exciting and rewarding year.
