Class Prophecy Today marks the day of great history to the town. of Flanagan, Illinois . Today is like any other day, only different. 'I'he tlme: June l, 1980. The place: Flanagan H191 School. The matter of importance: 1960 class reunion. As we mill through the crowd, we see a lot of famlllar faces. 'I'he flrst person we greet ls MARILYN RIEN'lS. It seems Marilyn decided to settle down and has five llttle T.V. repalrmen around the house . She lives in Minnesota so she can keep an eye on her hubby whlle he attends two weeks' summer camp. 'l'here's another famlllar face. Why, lt's FUZZ lsometlmes called DAVE TIMMERMAND. It seems after Dave bullt hls first hot rod he started racing blg cars . l-le just came back from winning at the Le Mans Speedway ln France. KAY TULL ls now an exclusive interior decorator at Henry Hudson Hotel in New York. lt seems she began this career on our senlor trip when she rearranged her crowded hotel room. Good ole GLEN HANSEN ls running a Pizzarla in Flanagan. Those trips to Streator got too expensive, I guess . l hear LADONNA MARSHALL attended business college after graduation and ls now a famous executive secretary to Nelson Rockefeller. Her annual salary ls only 810, 000. FRED UPHOFF declded to go into farming, but lt soon rulned his health. You see, he ralsed S, 000 acres of Idaho potatoes, and he really hadda hoe. Look at that beautlful sun tanl That could only be one person--RON RABER. He's selling lawn mowers ln Hawaii. Guess he's got a good thing going, too. MARJORIB PCBT ls nursing at the Klll-'em-Qulck dog and cat hospital in Hawaii, too. She said she's had that ln the back of her mind ever slnce she heard the boys' quartet murder that Doggie ln the Window. Her twin sister, MARILYN PCBT, became so Interested ln psychlatry in college that she has opened an office ln Flanagan slnce yaduatlon. Marllyn says, Come tell your troubles to me. ROGER RAPP declded to make use of hls musical sblllty after graduation and ls now directing Lawrence Welk's orchestra. It seems Rog began with the band as a vocallst. Oh, yes, Rog says his favorite saying ls Turn off the bubble machine. And over here we see JO ANN RUSTMAN who ls now a famous toy deslgxer and manufacturer. She tells me she developed her talent whlle buying so many new toys for her baby brother. Ch, yes, there ls the famous dance team from our class, HAROLD CARS'l'ENS and PAT HARRIS. They now rum the l-larold Csrstsns School of Dance. Wlth Harold's charming face, he took rlgit over where Arthur Murray left off. Pat has taken over Katherine's Spot. Why lf it lsn't JOYCE FOLKERSI What are you dolag now, Joyce? I'm a stewardess for Wl-IUGT fWe-Hope-U-Get-Thruj Alrllnes. 'l'here's VICTOR THEESFIELD who now owns the largest fishing resort ln the U.S. It ls located ln Wlsconsln and Vlc says, lf you want to catch 'really blg' flsh, come see me. While looklng through an old newspaper we happened to find, we came upon a syndicated column entltled Washington Whlspers . Of course, lt was written by none other than the co-editor of our 1960 yearbook, JANET THIEL. Janet became interested in Washington whlle on our senior trip. We also read an article about the hlghest paid member of our class of '60, LARRY WILSON. He now owns controlling Interest in Wilson Sporting Goods Company. Just to keep in practlce, Larry has recently joined the world renowned basketball team known as Big Tom's Dun.klng Flve. Of course, Big Tom is none other than our own TOM SAXTON who has just returned from Kentucky where he remained after graduating from Murray State College. Alter graduation, he went on to form this famous team whldl now has a record of 100 wins and no losses. MARCIA CREMER has been successfully married for some time now. She's llvlng In the Florlda Everglades keeping ahead of Uncle Sam by raising tax deductions . SHARON HARRIS has become an Arkansas moonshlner. Recently she was arrested for runnlng the largest still west of the Mlsslaslppl. She always was fond of the moon. Yes, she was arrested by BILL DUFFY, who ls now a famous F.B.l. agent. Being an undercover agent most of the tlme, he has assumed the code name of Eliot Bess or Fess or something like that. Standing nearby us now ls MYRA JOHNSON who was one of the former F.H.S. hol1ering cheerleaders. lf you look around you may see a few of those llttle Beller's . I wonder why LINDA ONKEN is wearing a slmhelmet? 01, that's rigmt. She is now selling T.V. sets in the Belgian Congo. 01, and there in the sunglasses, is E.R. fBuddyJ YORDY. After hls brilliant performance in the senior class play Ln 1960, he was discovered and signed as a western T.V. actor starring ln his new program, Wagon Boss . Bud, do you like your work? Yup. Do you think your work is important? 'Nope . Well, you mean your work lsn't important? --------- Ch, darnl I forgot my lines. While at Flanagan Hlgm, CAROL JONES was very much interested Ln speech and dramatics. Carol has now developed her interest further and goes from school to school glvlng programs. It seems that last week she gave a program at F.H.S. entitled Way Back Yonder ln 1960. After doing a wonderful impersonation of Elvis at a senior class all-school party ln '60, WILLADEAN ODLE challenged and has taken over Elvls ' position in the record field. Next year she plans to open a teddy bear exhibit at the Wor1d's Fair. ROBERT WEICHMAN has now taken over hls father's job as janltor at Flanagan H131 School. It seems he got his start by helping his dad back ln 1960. l-lls assistant janitor ls his wife, Kathy. 'I'hey always were inseparable. This man was telling me he is about to be promoted next week. After twenty years of faithful service, ROBERT SMITH will be promoted to the rank of Captain, lover all carry-out boys at the A 81 P market in Pontiacj. After twenty more years as Captain, he will receive a gold pin wlt:h these famous words inscribed upon lt-- Carry out, Please. Look who we meet nowl None other than MARY QQulte Contraryj NOLAN. She is now a specialist in the Lab at St. James Hospital i.n her spare time. Spare time? Who has spare time when they're raising little redheads! Sitting ln the lawn chair to our rigmt is none other than the exclusive mllllonnalre, JANET ZEHR. Janet ls still single and llvlng up to her' motto, Live, love and laugh. Another successful story ls that of PAUL STALTER. He owns a large skating rink ln Princeton. From his amassed fortune, he built a large dlrty sock dlsnoser, which he donated to the boys' locker room at F.C.H.S. The hard luck story of our class belongs to our own petite BEV SCHELL. She entered nurses' training however, whenever she held a patlent's hand, lg temperature would rlse drastically. Three weeks and 147 dxermometers later, she was forced to quit and is now working in Grldley with her husband at the Chevrolet garage as a grease monkey. lf you're staylng up many nlgmts searching through your astronomy books for that extra little object you see up on the moon, you needn't be alarmed any longer. It's merely harmless, old Professor LYNN ORENDORFF running around up there trying to flnd the green cheese he's always heard about. Since graduation LINDA UI'l'O's small Bock of chickens has expanded into a huge chicken farm and she now employees 30 eligible men to take care of them for her. Ten years hasn't changed Llnda. The man with the winning srnlle ln the center of the room is none other than PAUL UPHOFF. I-le's malnly remembered for startlng the N.F .A.C. fNatlonal Friendly Argument Clubj which originated ln F.C.H.S. He feels he got his start ln Engllsh IV class . Yes, these are the members of the graduating class of 1960. Just as they have changed, so has Flanagan i-nga School. The school has gone modern with built-ln escalators, sixty-minute recesses every hour, music piped to every classroom, and a tranqulllzer dlspenser ln the teacher's room. However, the man responsible for most of this is none other than world renowned JOHN GORMAN. John's real talent was discovered whlle at college. lt seems he was appearing in a major dramatic production: and whlle he was on me stage, he slipped and fell on his ba1ley. Since then, Keven considering his legsj he's become a famous ballet dancer. F.C.H.S. was forttmate enougi to receive a portion of hls great fortune . Well, I guess that wraps up this coverage of the 1960 class reunion. We nope you enjoyed meetlng our famous Class of 1960
