YN W Bourbon Street, the French Quar- ter, Big Mamoo, Canal Street, petite mademoiselle and dashing beaux - even a 'Streetcar Named Desire' - were all present at the last dance before the Lenten season - Mardi Gras! To the strains of Les Marseilles, a flamboyant array of characters from all walks of life fell, into step during the grand march. At this time prizes were awarded tho s e with the funniest and most original costumes. It was a grand noir for all - Viva! 5 i A rabbit playing the guitar We danced and danced. Model patio is examined by Mr. Boogren, Joe Hoover, Walter Pawlak, and Ray Phy. For the students, by the students can best describe Project Patio, which has given the students an opportunity to prove themselves capable of doing a job for their own benefit. Students like Ken Hart, Bill Morey, and John Bolo- gnino spent many, long hours drawing up plans to be en- tered in an all-school contest. Their ideas were the win- ners with Stan Skreczekowski capturing the first prize of a S25 savings bond. The actual building of the patio is being done by the building trades class and plans are being completed by Mr. Carr and his crew of boys whoaare more than capable to handle.it. Mr. Boogren, chairman of this building pro- ject, supervises the general purchase of materials along with his faculty committee. The patio is financed by the students through various means sponsored by the Student Council. This patio is scheduled to be finished soon so that the students may take advantage of this student lounge and bar- becue area for their prom and other memorable events throughout the year. Fall and spring will find this spot busy with meetings of various school clubs. project patio ' 1 ,vp N' ' 5 , ' - f--ww . . , 4 . The annual push cart racers help provide funds for Project Patio by paying an entry fee which aids in alleviating building costs. , ..
