GAVALEER SOCIETY Founded with the ideals of improving intellectual, social, and athletic activities, this society is the oldest club on campus. These men are also known for their athletic ability which they display in the intramural sports. The first event of the year was Initiation Week-end which is noted for instilling the true spirit of this society into its future members. Kagle ' s Hall was the scene for the Christmas Dance sponsored by the Gavaleer Society and the Student Government. Other club activities include the Gav-Hawk formal and the annual Installation Banquet. The Greek letters, Lamba, Phi and Sigma denoting leadership, light, and strength, are a known symbol of the men in black and gold jackets. MOHAWK CLUB Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, the Mohawks strive to promote cooperation in the school; to increase social welfare in student life; to foster professional improvement; to gain the benefits derived by the organization; and to promote atheletic achievement among its members individually and collectively. The first big activity this year was Initiation Week-end. Fun-Nite was a real treat this year with the ToKalon Society contributing their feminine talent. The annual Penny Sale was a big part of the night, but most remembered is the variety show and its top-notch talent. The sympathetic understanding of this club is shown in the Toy For Joy booth at Christmas time which benefits underprivileged children. May the Mohawks continue onward with their fine reputation and always be united in one symbol, Soangetaha.
