DEAN The Student Government Association, formerly called the Student Co-op Council, was instituted in 1937. he name was changed last spring to create an organization which would be a governing body rather than purely a co-op society to distribute money and to plan social activities. overning body also acts as a liason agency between the administration and the student body. Its major purpose is to coordinate all school functions within this college in order to achieve variety, harmony, and unity. I lus year its members have helped in promoting the college dances and proms, the Carnival Week-end, the U.A.A. and M.A.A. organizations, and the newspaper, each with its individual success. ition to its numerous traditional activities, the Student Government this year sponsored a rally for basketball uniforms, gave the commuting associations a boost with a hot drink machine and engaged in various successful fund raising endeavors to meet the needs of the entire student body. itudent Government, although handicapped because of changing traditions, feels they have made a h the continue i ration ol the students and the faculty, we feel that they will continue in their [ t to improve satisfy, and unifj the extra and co-activity program at F.T.C.
