ass s w Royalty Training with the Indians Perhaps we weren ' t unusual when we entered T. C. but we have cer- tainly made up for it. The green on the ivy was just a reflection of the Class of ' 53. Now the ivy is gone and we too are leaving. Let ' s just reminisce a bit . . . How could we forget . . . the green bows and name tags . . . Fresh- man Weekend with Mr. Kent and Ham N ' Eggs, the dance in Miller Hall; boys in one corner, girls in the other. But we ' ve learned . . . Pussy Gaylord, pushed an onion with her nose . . . Buddy Stevenson, Joe O ' Toole, Charley Bird sang Java Jive in the Freshman Talent Show . . . Caroling on front campus, and the wet reception we got . . . The Carnival Ball that year was the best ; the crystal throne, walls covered with evergreen, and we covered with fireproofing material ... we had snow, too, and won the sculpturing contest with our monkeys . . . Marks came out and some of us departed . . . Some of us won ' t forget Jim Craffey and Dick Mulligan in the Esso Minstrel that year . . . Tuesday night dances were in full swing . . . gals remember Denny Rickeby, Dick York??? fellas remember Patti Garneau, Mary Farrisey, Dee Mulvey??? . . . This was the year of THE PICNIC . . . C ' est le Guerre and Tom Convery . . . Newman Club girls won the intra- mural basketball championship . . . Miss McCarty and her eternal question Who lived in the house with the red door? . . . who cared . . . Dr. Ross came to us and made scarfs the vogue . . . Mr. Harrington and the 17 cut system, his wonderful smile and heartwarming handshake . . . Miss Haskins and the Sadie Hawkin ' s costume . . . Miss Clark, new to the faculty, our gym classes and the C ' s for cutting once . . . Mr. Healy and the Teachers College on the Cape and my singing career . . . Ah, Orientation . . . Officers: Ed Flynn, Gloria Spadaro, Lainey Weiner, Fran Roberts. The green grew paler as the year flew faster ... as Sophomores we can remember . . . the Social Committee, Buddy Stevenson, Malerin Miller, Charley Woodhams, Francis Wood . . . Dr. Sanders left and Dr. White ushered in . . . the Halloween Dance, spider web, devil ' s costumes . . . the barracks burned and Anne McKeeman was at a loss ... no snow Winter Carnival weekend . . . remember Suzy . . . the cry this year was $25 Monkey Business Ah yes, the Junior Prom 18
