OPUS On October 31, 1987, Fitchburg Hi gh School held its homecoming game against Don Bosco. The Homecoming Court arrived at Crocker field on the Opus float. Students who worked on the float were proud to see their float had been finished in time for the game. After the ceremonial photos, the girls in the court changed from their lovely gowns into jeans so that they would be more comfortable. Even though Fitchburg lost the game 13-20, the Homecoming game turned out successful. Everyone was in high spirits, especially since Howie Nosek, the red raider, and the guys in the court started the wave. Also, the guys brightened up the atmosphere by displaying their humor with matching pairs of Grouch-O-Marx glasses. Kim Troest Chris Auger, Mike Thibault, and Karen Seiinga gather around Cristi Zimirowski's kitchen to contribute their part in de- signing the homecoming float Eveiy flower that Eric Seiinga adds brings the float one step further to completion. THANKSGIVING RALLY To many students around the globe, Wednesday. November 25th was probably just an average day. To the Red and Gray students of FHS. however, this was a day not only to exhibit, but to show off their school spirit. As the students stormed into the auditorium early that morning, they were greeted with red and gray streamers, balloons, and other para- phernalia, as well as the FHS Marching Band, playing modern tunes such as La Bamba and Louie, Louie . To get things started, the Red Raider Varsity Cheerleaders psyched up the crowd with a few of their favorite cheers. The J.V. Cheerleaders then followed with their tribute to the football players with their Football Rap. Finally, it was the mo- ment we were all waiting for, the presentation of the skits. The student body becomes rowdy when Howie Nosek, the FHS red raider, leaps onto the stage. 18 ♦ Student Ufe
