As the Fans Filed Out. IILM Thanksgiving Day Rally has always been about. It is a chance for the students and faculty of Fitchburg High along with the parents and friends of Fitchburg to show their pride in the Football team. Finally, the stage went to the Football team. Coach Dubzinski talked about the team's record, it's hopes for becoming the first team since '72 to beat the Devils, and it's great players who would lead the team to that victory. Then Coach Dubzinski extended welcome to the student body to come to the game Thanksgiving Day. At last, as the Alma-Mater played, the fans filed out of the auditorium. The Flames Rose . . . The Fate of the Blue Devil , In the bitter cold of a November night, the heat of the Fitchburg- Leominster rivalry blazed into an inferno. The 1984 bonfire was on. This infant tradition saw hundreds of loyal Red Raider fans huddled around a Shawn Kelley lights our fire. (above) Brian Donslan honors the Alma mater, (left) Those Devils!!! Burn 9 seething hill of flame. The cheerleaders kicked up their heels and waved their bodacious pompoms to the beat of On Wisconsin while their goose-pimples doubled and tripled. Quickly the flames rose through the dry stack of timber, nearing the effigy of the fated Blue Devil. The crowd howled as the band struck up the Alma Mater and the Devil burned into oblivion. A 23
