I Left with a Happy Memory The Senior Reception to the faculty, on September 13, 1984, officially started school for the Seniors. It was then that they merged into one powerful mass to lead and become role models as upper- classmen. The festivities opened with the watermelon eating contest, an event that took quick moving chops and a fast diges- tive system. Soon the watermelon contestants could wash up with a quick splash from a water balloon. Laundry baskets full of heavy, colorful balloons were ammunition for many eager Seniors ready to start a high spirited war. Within minutes the ammunition was de- pleted, and a more competitive event commenced: the three-legged race. En- thusiastic Seniors bounced, flopped, and staggered to the finish line, all except Joe Kreidler and Sue Lapointe who led the race throughout and won with magnificent style. Slowly, the atmosphere became more intense when the egg throwing contest began. You could see the concentration in the Senior's faces as the eggs mercifully landed in their hands. However, some Mr. Welch and Mr. Goode eye the chicken. Tim Malenfant and Sue LaPointe nasts. aspinng gym- Come on, drop! Amy Alitalo and Mr. Berthiaume try to pass a lifesaver. 11
