A Lifetime Of Traditions What wouid life be like at Fitch- burg High School without all the many traditions we have here? Wouldn't a 3.0 be easier to take if the gold F weren't at stake? Who would ever want to give up the pride of seeing their YOG painted on the rock? Would Graduation be the same without the anticipation of a week at the beach? Could Thanks- giving dinner ever taste the same if we didn't at least try to beat Leominster? Traditions are what give Fitch- burg High School life. They fill out the skeletal body of reading, writ- ing, and arithmetic and make our high school education a total living experience. The yearbook, a tradi- tion in itself, has chronicled the birth, life, and death of many tradi- tions at our school on the hill. Just as the Class of '83 has started to build their own traditions like the Spring Outing and the Bon Fire, there are a few activities that have fallen by the wayside. A Red and Gray Dance on the day after Christ- mas has gone out along with an event similar to the Senior Recep- tion, called the Junior Reception to the Seniors. Traditions not only come and go, but they also change with almost every class. The Jr. Sr. Relay, which used to be run from Worces- ter, can attest to that. This Yearbook is dedicated to honoring all the new, old, and changed traditions that we as a school, and as individual classes, carry on here at Fitchburg High School.
