DEDICATION When a teacher constantly strives for professional improve- ment, displays conscientious loyalty to the highest standards, and inspires students with a desire for education and learning, he commands respect. Moreover when he has a genuine concern for the welfare of his students as people and is blessed with the gift of humor, he wins friendship and affection. Mr. Bruce P. Nattinville, our class advisor, is a teacher of such stature. As our advisor, Mr. Nattinville has not only been aware of our capabilities as young adults, but also has respected us as such, conferring upon us trust and responsibility. Through his unobtrusive guidance and interest, we have achieved success. Recognizing that he is deserving of our boundless gratitude and hoping in some small way to manifest our appreciation, we the class of 1968, dedicate our Boulder to Mr. Nattinville, an inspiring teacher, a devoted advisor, and an invaluable friend.

To the Graduating Class: In accordance with the trend of the times and the theme of the day, let me urge you to have the vision to understand espe- cially this one great principle, of seeing greatness and goodness in other people, not those in some far off, distant land, but rather in those who are our friends and neighbors with whom we daily associate, whether they may live in a hovel or a mansion, a ranch house, a farm, a trailer or a cabin, whether they are light-skinned or dark-skinned, native born or foreign bom, rich or poor, edu- cated or uneducated, whether they be truck drivers or college professors, scientists or artists, farmers or factory owners. This matters not. They are your fellow men, who are made and fashioned by the hand of God to His own image and likeness. The power to remain true to your character is one of the secrets of greatness. To hold on to your ideals despite tempta- tions, to abide by the law though others violate it, to stand alone by what is right despite the pull of the crowd, to pursue your purpose despite all obstacles and difficulties - this is the meaning of perseverance. Don't give up, don't quit, and all your defeats will turn to victories. Remember that life is a struggle and a challenge, but because of this it is worth living. You are told about the vast world which you are to encounter. You will find, however, that it is not so vast after all. The world in which most of us actually live and breathe and have our being from birth to death is relatively small. This world will be influenced immensely by your example and your life, what you do, what you say, how you think and how you act. Remember that you can change the world for better or for worse by the power of your personaUty, the kind- ness and charm of your character, the strength of your will and the wisdom of your vision. The world needs each of you as never before. Give of your- self, the best you have, and the best will come back to you. Sincerely, Dr. Robert H. McCam
