Foreign Language Department John C. Baimas Department Head Our Foreign Language Department, under the guidance of its new Department Head, Mr. John C. Baimas, helps make us aware of our ever- changing world by teaching us the importance of internationalism. To achieve this understanding, we must not only learn the languages of other peoples, but also learn of their customs, their geography, and their history. For this reason, well-rounded programs are available to the students in French, Spanish, Italian and German. French is taught in a four-year program while Spanish, Italian, and German are offered in three-year programs. To provide the student with a classical background by acquainting him with man's heritage, and to give him a strong foundation for future language study, Latin is offered in a four-year program. This year the Latin course has been expanded with an Advanced Placement Program for its exceptional students. William J. Boyle Mrs. Kathr)'n B.
