Stanley A. Goode, Principal Principal To the Class of 1966: Even though I have known you only a short time, I must commend you for the fine cooperation you have given me in my first year as the principal of Fitchburg High School. Your zeal and enthusiasm, your ardent desire for the need of learning, your self-discipline, and your overwhelming show of school spirit have made my job an easy task. To you, the Class of 1966, I am most grateful. You now must take your place in the adult world. The complex, interrelated, and compressed world with its social, economic, political, religious, and ideological conflicts will seem to raise insurmount- able barriers to you. You may feel some trepidation in facing them. Yet for the past four years the faculty here at the high school have guided you to this end — to meet the demands of the outside world. It is our hope that, formed by the ideals you have been taught, you will be prepared to show by your action that you are responsible citizens of the United States.
