Foreign Language Because of the increasing necessity for reasoning and understanding among the nations of the world today, there is a greater demand for men and women skilled in the art of communicating with our neighbors around the world. Our Language Department, which offers four years of Latin and French, three years of German and Spanish, and two years of Italian, prepares interested students for rewarding careers in many areas, including foreign affairs. Further apprecia- tion of these languages is available through activities outside the classroom, such as our various language clubs, contests, and excursions to plays and museums. Guidance Department To meet the awesome task of guidance by proper course scheduling, advice and assistance in college applications, and aid in seeking employment, our skilled guidance counselors, Mr. Quinn, Mr. Karkos, and Miss McDermott, are always available and eager to help. Through individual counseling, aptitude and intelligence tests, and group lectures, our Guidance Department furnishes us the information that we need to know about ourselves and about the colleges and occupations in which we are interested to use our high school preparation to good advantage.
